On Thursday, the Moscow Regional Court suspended court proceedings related to the Moscow Regional Prosecutor's Office's legal action to liquidate the leftist radical National Bolshevik Party /NBP/ headed by the popular writer Eduard Limonov. Thus the court granted a petition by lawyer Sergei Belyak who represents the NBP in court. Mr. Belyak insisted that the court cannot hear this civil case, as all documents, submitted by the Moscow Regional Prosecutor's Office in support of its legal action, are copies of materials filed in relation to the criminal case against Mr. Limonov. The case in currently in the investigation stage. The Investigation Department of the Russian Federal Security Service is processing it. The department needs to do a lot of work before the criminal case against the head of NBP and another five active members of the party is processed and sentences are issued. The court ruling also stresses that the facts, which can be proved as a result of the consideration of the criminal case, can significantly change the final decision on the civil case concerning the liquidation of the NBP.
