"The detention of SIBUR senior officials not only aggravates the conflict, but also undermines the country's business reputation, and the usage of force in theis commercial dispute makes a very negative impact on Russia's investment climate in general," says a statement issued by Boris Nemtsov, the parliamentary chief of Union of Right Forces, following yesterday's property clash between Gazprom and the the Siberian-Ural Petrochemical and Gas Company (Sibur). Nemtsov believes that "the usage of the General Prosecutor's Office for pressure on those involved in the dispute" between Gazprom and its subsidiary is an unacceptable measure. In his opinion, this conflict "is purely commercial", and the only place to resolve it is the arbitration court, whose decision is obligatory for all involved parties, the statement says.
