Bush’s tour of three Far-Eastern countries that was scheduled for October’2001 will take place in February’2002, right after the Chinese New Year.
Xinhua news agency reports with reference to a source in Washington that the visit of President Bush on the route of Tokyo – Seoul – Beijing, which had been postponed because of the Sept.11 events, is scheduled for February. It will coincide with the coming of the year of the horse, which is celebrated on February 7 in China.
George W.Bush will spend a couple of days in each of the counties mentioned: February 18-19, in Japan; February 19-20, in South Korea; and February 21-22, in China. The key topic to be discussed in every city is, according to White House spokesman Mr. Fleisher, the struggle with terrorism: the problem that has been extremely important for the US president for half a year already.
