Russian Audit Chamber Chairman Sergei Stepashin, who is on a visit to Hungary, and the chairman of Hungary's Audit Chamber signed an agreement on cooperation between the supreme financial control agencies of the two countries in Budapest last evening. The PR and Information Department of Russia's Audit Chamber reported that the agreement provides for parallel inspections, exchange of information on the results of checks that are of mutual interest, and use of joint experience for development of the audit methodology. During the talks, the parties agreed that cooperation in blocking the channels for "financial support for international terrorism" and measures against laundering illegally received money are the most topical issues now. During the visit, Stepashin plans to hold talks with the Hungarian interior minister and officials of the parliament of Hungary.
