The Rosneft oil company will finance the construction of a 300km-long railroad from Ulak to Elga, head of the company Serge Bogdanchikov declared in interview with journalists in Khabarovsk today. According to him, this is one of the most attractive projects of Rosneft in the Far East. Rosneft officials say that the company intends to intensify its activities in this region. In particular, it will continue the construction of a 400km-long gas pipeline from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to Khabarovsk via Primorye. This pipeline will be the second section of the major Sakhalin-Komsomolsk-on-Amur-Khabarovsk-Primorye pipeline. In addition, Bogdanchikov was also quoted as saying that Rosneft had also acquired the operator who is constructing the 250km-long gas pipeline from Sobolev to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski. As soon as the construction is completed, the Petropavlovsk fuel and energy station will be working on "blue fuel," which will make it possible to cut black oil supplies to the city. Rosneft also shows interest in coal projects in the Far East. It will participate in the privatization of the following coal companies - Primorskugol, Urgalugol (Khabarovsk region) and Dalvostugol (Amur region).
