Insulting scales annoy customers

The shopping centre, Greenwood Plaza, near Melbourne, decided to install the speaking scales as a humorous way to attract new customers. However, things started going wrong from the moment that a lady stood on them and dropped in her coin.

“Get off, you fat pig!” shouted the scales. The lady took offence. Another male customer heard “Hey, you’ve put on some weight since Christmas!” Another received the message : “You’re a little overweight, you fat ****!”

The supplier of the scales is seeing what can be done to tone down the language.
