PM Kasyanov to attend the World Economic Forum in New York

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov will take part in the work of the World Economic Forum to be held in New York on February 1-3, official representative of the Russian foreign ministry Alexander Yakovenko told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

Mikhail Kasyanov will make a speech at the plenary session of the forum, meet a number of heads of state and government, and leading media representatives. During the negotiations, Moscow is going to elucidate the economic policy of Russia to its foreign partners. Alexander Yakovenko believes that this will make it possible to improve the collaboration of Russia with international economic organisations and contribute to attracting investments in domestic economy.

The diplomat also pointed out that during the work of the World Economic Forum, a meeting will take place with representatives of the business community within the framework of The Council of Business Leaders on Russia to continue discussion of the Russian reforms, which began at the recent session of the forum in Moscow.
