The two-day third international conference Industry of Service in the 21st Century is to start working in Moscow on Monday. Like in the previous years, it is organised by Moscow State University of Service. As rector of this educational establishment Yuri Sviridenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti, "the purpose of the conference is to discuss the basic principles of strategy of development of the service sphere of Russia in the 21st century, the topical problems of the present state of the whole consumer market and the prospects of its development". According to Sviridenko, the participants in the conference will consider the course of the fulfilment of the federal and territorial programmes for improving the organisation and technology of trade, public catering and communal services. As the organisers of the conference plan, it will also make it possible "to establish new business contacts among representatives of enterprises and organisations in the service sphere".
