Russian Defence Minister To Visit Nato Headquarters

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov expects his trip to the Brussels-based NATO headquarters, which begins on Monday, to help him "promote closer interaction between Russia and NATO in meeting new threats and challenges." However, he does not think that any agreements, oral or written, will be reached in the format of 20 states. Ivanov made the announcement after handing the defence ministry standard over to Colonel General Nikolai Solovtsov, the Strategic Rocket Troops Commander. In the minister's opinion, the advancement he is hoping for is quite possible to achieve because "no country, however powerful," can face terrorism and the nuclear proliferation threat on its own.
