Russian Prosecutor General Informs Premier On Checkups At Railways Ministry

On Thursday Russian government chairman Mikhail Kasyanov met with Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov. They spoke on preliminary results of recent-months checks by the prosecutor's office of the Railways Ministry economic activities, RIA Novosti was told at the Government Information Department. The prosecutor said that investigators have studied all circumstances and discovered serious abuses related above all to tax-payment arrears. Mikhail Kasyanov noted that, in adopting the governmental resolution on rescheduling accumulated tax payment arrears of the Railways Ministry, attention was paid to the preliminary results of work of the Prosecutor General's Office and the reinvigoration of Ministry's work to ensure timely payment of current tax payments.
