On Sunday, January 6, an 11th Christmas semi-marathon will start in Omsk. It is one of the world's most extreme races. Last year, for one, at the starting moment the temperature was 37 degrees below zero. But the competition did take place. According to the marathon's organisational committee, over 200 professional marathoneers and simply amateurs have been registered with the marathon so far. Among them are runners from Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain and Belgium. Many of them have arrived with their families. Sportive families will start separately. On the agenda is also a race for schoolchildren, whose winners will receive presents from the city's authorities. Weather men forecast that the temperature will not exceed 20 degrees below zero on the day of the start.
