Severgazprom, a subsidiary of the Russian gas giant Gazprom, overfulfilled its plan for gas production in 2001, the Komiinform agency reported referring to Severgazprom's general director Anatoly Zakharov. He reported that the company produced 3.2 billion cubic meters of gas in 2001, or 4 per cent more than planned. At the same time, Severgazprom is in first place among Gazprom's subsidiaries in the number of emergencies due to its aged pipeline system. In view of this, Severgazprom will implement a program for the reconstruction of its pipeline system next year. In addition, it will continue exploration operations and spend about 600 million rubles (about $19.91 million) on this.
