Federation Council International Committee Head On Strengthening Ruble Zone

The strengthening of the ruble zone within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Russia-Belarus Union State should be an adequate answer of Russia to appearance of cash euro. This is an opinion of Mikhail Margelov, chairman of the international committee of the Federation Council, which he expressed at the briefing held on the results of the round table on economic and political aftermath of euro introduction in Russia. As is known, euro will be introduced in the European Union countries since January 1, 2002. At the same time, Margelov said he did not feel any threat in introducing cash euro in Russia. Nevertheless, it is obvious that introduction of cash euro will somewhat affect the routine life of every Russian citizen.
