On Tuesday, the Budget Committee of the Federation Council (Upper House of the Russian Parliament) recommended for approval the distribution of 318.4 billion roubles (about $10.5 billion) in additional budgetary revenues within the framework of the 2001 federal budget. 165.2 billion roubles will be allocated in accordance with Article 120 of the Law on the 2001 Budget. 21 billion roubles will be given to the republics of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan to implement regional programs, and up to 3.4 billion roubles will the allotted to the Ministry of Transport. While speaking at a session of the Federation Council Budget Committee, Deputy Finance Minister Tatyana Golikova said that 12.5 billion roubles had been saved this year to service Russia's debt to the Paris Club.
