Ukraine, Germany and Russia to discuss gas transportation consortium

A trilateral meeting of representatives of Ukraine, Germany and Russia regarding the creation of a gas transportation consortium, is likely to take place at the end of March - the beginning of April 2003, head of the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Markiyan Lubkivsky reported.

During a recent visit of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister to Germany, a principal agreement on the acceleration of the creation of the gas transportation consortium was reached. The Minister suggested holding a meeting of a task force in Ukraine for discussing all issues connected with the functioning of the consortium.

Since the leaders of Ukraine, Russia and Germany signed an agreement on creating the consortium, Germany has not participated in the discussion of the project at the top level. However, they stated that they would like to join the activities for creating the consortium as early as possible.
