According to preliminary data, the Russian GDP amounted to 10.863 trillion rubles (about $345.51bn) in 2002. This information was released in the materials, prepared for a meeting of the enlarged board of the Russian Finance Ministry on the 2002 results. The federal budget surplus reached RUR156.2bn (about $4.97bn), or 1.4 percent of the GDP.
The documents point out that the federal budget's revenues were 2.202 trillion rubles (about $70.04bn), or 20.3 percent of the GDP, in 2002, gaining 3.6 percent against 2001.
The federal budget's expenditures amounted to 2.046 trillion rubles (about $65.07bn), or 18.83 percent of the GDP, last year.
