Head of the Russian Atomic Energy Ministry Alexander Rumyantsev and US Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham are expected to sign an agreement on US providing financial aid to shut down three Russian plutonium-producing power reactors. The agreement is due to be signed at the International Conference on Security of Radioactive Sources scheduled to be held today in Vienna, the Russian delegation told RIA Novosti.
The three-day conference is organised by the International Atomic Energy Agency /IAEA/ and is co-sponsored by Russia and the United States. Over 600 experts from 110 countries are expected to attend the conference.
