According to the preliminary results of 2002, Great Britain became the third largest foreign investor in the Russian economy, said the Russian Foreign Ministry's official spokesman Alexander Yakovenko on Monday ahead of Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov's visit to Great Britain.
Investments are becoming an especially topical part of Russian-British trade-and-economic co-operation, he pointed out.
The recent decision of British Petroleum to make large investments in the Russian fuel and energy industry is expected to bring "serious positive changes" in the sphere, Yakovenko said.
