Customs Officers Detain Uzbek Citizen for Industrial Espionage in Siberia

Customs officers confiscated, from an Uzbek citizen detained at Tolmachevo airport, technological charts of heavy machine-building and metallurgy belonging to a Novosibirsk factory.

Konstantin Vins, deputy head of the Tolmachevo customs, said on Thursday that the detained person was going to Tashkent.

According to law-enforcers, the Uzbek citizen illegally bought these documents, intellectual property of the factory, from a staff member of the enterprise.

Experts are estimating the damage that could have been done to Russia if these documents had been taken from the country.

Customs officials admit that a criminal case can be launched into this attempt of taking the documents abroad.
