First EurAsEc Economic Forum to Be Held in Moscow

About 1,000 businessmen from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Russia and Tajikistan are expected to attend the first EurAsEc Economic Forum scheduled to take place on February 19-20 in Moscow, Secretary General of the Euro-Asian Economic Community Grigory Rapota said at a press conference on Wednesday.

According to Rapota, about 350 Russian, 150 Kazakh and three groups of 30 businessmen from Belarus, Kirgizia and Tajikistan have applied for the forum. The observer countries, Ukraine and Moldavia, were also invited.

Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev is expected to open the forum. Among those invited are leaders of the EurAsEc member countries at the level of Prime Ministers and Deputy Prime Ministers, governors, representatives of scientific circles, banking and financial organizations of the community's members.

Russia will be presented at the forum by its Minister of Economic Development and Trade Herman Gref, Minister of Labor and Social Development Alexander Pochinok, as well as President of the Unified Energy Systems of Russia joint stock company Anatoly Chubais.

The wide-scale forum will focus on widening economic integration between the EurAsEc member countries, implementing coordinated market reforms, stepping up business cooperation and creating conditions for attracting investments in the real sector of the economy, Rapota noted.
