Over 2002, Vneshtorgbank doubled the volume of resources attracted from private individuals. This amount reached $500m, the bank's press service reported. As of January 1, 2003, the total number of private individual deposits was 281,000. The balances at the deposits advanced to RUR14.7bn (about $461.75m), gaining 172 percent in 2002.
The bank also increased the number of issued plastic cards. As of the beginning of 2003, this figure exceeded 175,000; balances at cards' accounts were about RUR1.4bn (about $43.98m).
The volume of travel checks, sold by the bank in 2002, reached $55m. The bank's commission for these operations overcame $400,000. The Western Union network, organized by Vneshtorgbank's divisions, increased from 27 to 77 outlets last year.
