In January 2003, the average inflation rate in Russia amounted to 2.4 percent. According to the data of the Russian State Statistics Committee, the average daily price growth was 0.077 percent in the reported period, as compared to 0.098 percent in January 2002.
The most considerable advance was registered in prices for paid services to citizens. It reached 4.4 percent. Food prices gained 2.5 percent last month, including by 1.3 percent for fruit and vegetables. Non-food prices went up 1.1 percent.
