The Board of Directors of AvtoVAZ has approved its production plan for 2003. According to the document, the plant is to produce 690,000 automobiles next year, which is almost equal to this year's figure. At the same time, this is 80,000 automobiles lower than it was initially planned for 2002, the company told RosBusinessConsulting.
As reported earlier, the main assembly line of this automobile manufacturer was stopped from October 26 to November 9, 2002, due to the low demand for VAZ cars on the Russian market. The enterprise is to produce about 700,000 automobiles this year, instead of 770,000 as planned at the beginning of this year.
