Despite the government's disagreements, Russia's State Duma passed the conciliatory committee's draft law on making amendments to article 2 of the federal law "On state control over electric and thermal energy tariffs in the Russian Federation" at an extra plenary meeting on Thursday.
The law envisages that the government should establish electric and thermal energy tariffs in the country once a year before the draft federal budget project for the next year is passed in the first reading.
When explaining the government's standpoint, Cabinet representative in the State Duma Andrei Loginov stressed that the government considered this law inexpedient from financial and economic point of view.
Nevertheless, the law was unanimously supported by 321 deputies.
