Officers of the Federal Security Service's department for the Stavropol Territory, bordering on Chechnya, have prevented six terror attacks in the Stavropol Territory this year.
As Major-General Oleg Dukanov, the new head of the FSB Department, said to a press conference, law-enforcement agencies' work was hampered by the fact that over 500 criminal cases on the terrorist activity in the neighbouring republics (Kabardin-Balkaria, Karachai-Cerkessia, and other regions) were referred to regional courts.
"No other constituent member of the Russian Federation is under such pressure," Oleg Dukanov said.
