Companies throughout the world are expected to increase expenditures for information technologies and telecommunications by 6 percent in 2003 to $1.9 trillion, the IDC group forecasted. Its research says that investments in the telecommunications sector will fall again, by at least 5 percent, in 2003 except for emerging markets, such as China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Russia. These countries will enjoy a significant rise in allocations for their telecommunications sectors, in particular, due to investments in cellular communications.
