Russian senator criticises Europe for failure to realize terrorist threat

Mikhail Margelov, Chairman of the International Committee of the Federation Council, or the upper house of the Russian parliament, has criticised European countries for failing to recognize the threat of international terrorism.

Answering a question from RIA Novosti, Margelov said that many people in Europe did not realize that international terrorism was "not only a threat and a disaster for Russia, the USA and Israel, but also a threat to the whole mankind." Passing on to the Danish court's decision to liberate the Chechen emissary Akhmed Zakayev, he identified it as a manifestation of the "beautifully balanced European approach to the struggle against international terrorism." Many people in Europe still think there are "good" and "bad" terrorists, he said.
