The sale of gas at unregulated prices should take place on stock exchanges, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma committee for federal affairs and regional policy Viktor Boroday said in Moscow today. Speaking about the liberalization of the gas market in Russia, the official pointed out the tools of the reform had not been adequately specified so far. In particular, the interested agencies, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Federal Energy Commission of Russia and a number of State Duma committees along with major producers and consumers have not reached an agreement with Gazprom on a number of issues so far. For example, the approaches to transportation tariffs and rules and gas prices have not been agreed on yet. According to the Duma official, the approaches to the liberalization of the gas market remain controversial.
