25 Tu-204 jets to be built in near future

Sirocco Aerospace-Russia (subsidiary of the Egyptian company Sirocco Aerospace International), Aviastar, Aviaexport and Tupolev will sign an agreement on building 25 Tu-204 jets on November 29, Sirocco Aerospace-Russia President Boris Zenkov told RBC. Sirocco has exclusive rights for manufacturing Tu-204 with Rolls-Royse engines. These 25 planes will be later sold by Sirocco to different air companies. Five jets are to be sold to China. Moreover, according to the earlier signed contract, China has an option for another 10 planes.

According to Zenkov, "we hope this option will turn into a firm contract".

The first stage of the project's implementation (the construction of 5 planes for China) will be probably financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
