Kiev and Moscow coordinate management of international gas consortium

Neftegas of Ukraine and the Russian Gazprom have coordinated the composition of the leading bodies of the International Consortium for managing and developing Ukraine's gas transportation system.

The Neftegas Ukrainy company reported that Oleg Mikhalevich was elected general director of the consortium, who previously held the post of deputy head of Ukraine's leading gas transportation company Ukrtransgas, and Anatoly Tsymbal, director of Gazprom's representation in Kiev, was elected executive director.

A council of founders of the consortium was also established. From the Ukrainian side it includes Oleg Dubina, first Vice-premier, Igor Voronin, Vice-Chairman of the board of Neftegas Ukrainy and chairman of the Monitoring Council of Neftegas Ukrainy, and Mikhail Kovalko. From the Russian side it includes the following: Viktor Khristenko, First Vice-Chairman of the Russian government, Alexander Ryazanov, Vice-Chairman of the Gazprom Board, and Kirill Seleznev, head of Gazprom's marketing, gas refining and light hydrocarbon department.

Oleg Dubina, First Vice-premier of Ukraine, was elected chairman of the council of founders of the International Consortium for managing and developing Ukraine's gas transportation system.

The international consortium has been set up for the purpose of implementing the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Russia "On Strategic Cooperation in the Gas Sphere," which was signed on October 7, 2002 in Zaporozhye during the Russian-Ukrainian summit.
