Unique flight on hanggliders being prepared in Russia

The flight on hanggliders on the route Tomsk-Strezhevoi-Tomsk scheduled for August 2003 will be unique not only for Siberia but for Russia as a whole.

The press service of the regional administration reported that, according to its organisers the flight, 1,800 km long, will be one of the arrangements devoted to the 400th anniversary of Tomsk (Western Siberia). The 40th anniversary of the town of Strezhevoi will be marked at the same time. The project will be devoted to these two jubilees.

The Tomsk region is the only one in the Siberian federal district where aviation clubs remained, which prepare specialists for the service in the army, in aviation and in the airborne troops.
