Russia will pay $55.5bn in debt payments to member countries of the ParisClub in 2002-2020, of which $54.9bn is the debt of the former USSR. Thiswas voiced by the board of the Audit Chamber of the Russian Federationwhile discussing the results of checking the situation with Russia's debtsto the Paris Club today, the department of the Chamber reported toRosBusinessConsulting. According to materials, the total amount of the debt to the Paris Clubamounted to $42.56bn as of January 1, 2002 - $6.26 is Russia's debt and$36.3bn - the USSR's debt. In 1996-2001, Russia paid $19.077, i.e. $8.781bnas the debt itself and $10.296bn in interest rate. 52.13 percent of thismoney went to pay the USSR's debt, i.e. $9.944bn.
