Islamic Press Agency has confirmed that a bomb attack on a market in Khost, eastern Afghanistan, has wounded 12 people.
Mohammad Jan Gurbuz, spokesperson for the governor of the province of Khost, declared that “It could be an action by the Al Qaeda extremists”. The attack comes three days after a bomb exploded in Kabul, killing 30 and Prime Minister Hamid Karzai escaped an assassination attempt in Kandahar, the Taleban stronghold.
On Monday, Afghanistan will remember the first anniversary of the death of Ahmed Shah Massoud, the leader of the Northern Alliance, killed on 9th September by the Taleban.
