Home Depot will consolidate two of its nine divisional offices into one new division that will service its stores in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern U.S., and the Caribbean.
The Atlanta-based home improvement retailer said it will combine its Mid-Atlantic Division, currently based in South Plainfield, N.J., and its Southeast Division, currently based in Atlanta, into one operating division - called the Eastern Division - to be based in Atlanta. Home Depot said no material financial impact is anticipated from the integration. The company is in the process of determining if any job cuts are necessary. The company said a facility will remain in South Plainfield, but it was too early to determine if it will be the current facility.
The Eastern Division will service more than 450 Home Depot store locations and have more than 90,000 employees. Home Depot named Tom Taylor head of the Eastern Division. Taylor had been president of the Southeast Division since January. John Wicks, who was president of the Mid-Atlantic Division, will join the merchandising team in Atlanta. ©
