Armenian opposition unsatisfied with privatization of electric mains

Today representatives of 14 Armenian opposition parties made a statementdemanding to revise an agreement on the privatization of Armenian electricmains. In particular the opposition states that the contract on sellingshares in the Armenian Electric Main company to the British trade andindustrial company Midland Resources Holding Ltd is "another impudent stepcharacteristic of the mafia and clannish structure. As a result of theaction planned by the antinational governing regime, a profitable activityof the energy sector has been deliberately turned into loss making".Authors of the statement demand the revision of the law on privatization ofthe power grid, the ARMINFO news agency reported.As it was reported earlier, the British Midland Resources Holding Ltdcompany won a tender on the privatization of Armenian electric mains.
