Arms exhibition in Omsk devoted to armaments of rapid reaction forces

The 5th international exhibition of military equipment and conversion technologies in Omsk scheduled for June 3rd-7th 2003, will be devoted to the armament of rapid reaction forces.

The decision was taken at the first session of the working group for preparing the VTTV-Omsk-2003 exhibition. The subject of the exhibition is in line with solving the topical problem of the present, such as the struggle against international terrorism, said chairman of the regional industry, transport, communication and road-building complex Nikolai Lavrentyev.

At the exhibition the organizers in conjunction with the command of the Russian Air Borne are planning to carry out large-scale war games imitating all sorts of military actions.

Previous military exhibitions attracted a large number of foreigners, so all defense enterprises of Omsk, Siberia and other cities of Russia and the CIS took part in them.

Besides, the organizers intend to combine the exhibition with a scientific-technological congress on defence and conversion.
