BeeLine enters Omsk

The BeeLine GSM cellular network was put into commercial operation in Omsk,First Vice President of VimpelCom, the company that owns the BeeLine GSMtrademark, Nikolay Pryanishnikov declared at a press conference devoted tothe company's business results in the second quarter and first half of 2002today. At present, 12 base stations have been setup in Omsk so far. Theyare connected to a switchbox, capable of handling 50,000 users. Inaddition, on August 28, the BeeLine GSM network will be opened in Oryol, onAugust 29 - in Kursk. The latter will be the 24th region of Russia,representing BeeLine. .
