In the second quarter of 2002, losses of VimpelCom due to euro ratefluctuations amounted to $9m, first vice president of the company NikolayPryanishnikov reported at a press conference devoted to VimpelCom's resultsof the second quarter and the first half of 2003. In order to avoid suchlosses in the future, VimpelCom is planning to make a contract with aforeign bank, which has an office in Russia and will provide the companywith a stable euro rate.
