Head of the Chechen administration Akhmad Kadyrov considers it necessary to adopt a law that would allow bringing to account adherents of wahhabism, he told journalists in St.Petersburg after his meeting with the city governor Vladimir Yakovlev.
Wahhabism is not a religious movement, but terrorism and extremism, Kadyrov said. It is impossible to maintain dialogue with its adherents as they do not take in what they are told, he stressed. Preachers of wahhabism are active not only in Chechnya, but also in other districts densely populated by Muslims, he pointed out.
The Chechen interior department is to be formed by late September or early October, Kadyrov reported. Then he will turn to the federal government with a request to "withdraw redundant forces from Chechnya", he added.
