Chelyabinsk regional prosecutor Anatoly Bragin has no doubts that themurder of State Duma deputy Vladimir Golovlev was a contract hit, theUral-press-inform agency reported. The prosecutor announced at a pressconference today that the deputy could have been saved in the event theState Duma had agreed to his arrest. He explained that a significant partof stakes in enterprises in the South Ural region was sold at the secondarymarket with shady schemes, including criminal sales. When an arbitrationcourt returned a part of stole property to the legal owners, the criminalsapplied with claims against Golovlev. The prosecutor stressed that they hadbeen aware of this situation and knew they had to protect Golovlev in orderto see him alive in court as a defendant.
