The development of the fifth-generation fighter will be financed from the federal budget, however, it is important to attract non-budget investments for the success of this project, General Director of the Sukhoi aircraft enterprise Mikhail Pogosyan reported at a meeting with journalists today. He noted that the parent corporation responsible for the project was ready to allocate a part of profits from aircraft exports. The export portfolio of Sukhoi for the next ten years makes up $11.5bn, Pogosyan reported.
Earlier, the company's specialists reported that they had already completed the elaboration on the engineering design and economic estimations. The Sukhoi General Director reported that, in case of sufficient financing, the first flight model of the plane would be ready in 2006 and its mass production would start in 2011.
