Sberbank and the Russian diamond giant ALROSA signed a credit agreement on August 15, 2002, the press service of ALROSA reported today. According to the agreement, Sberbank will allocate 2.5bn rubles (about $79m) in credit to the diamond company for 2.5 years.
This was the second credit line opened by Sberbank for ALROSA. The first credit of $70m was allocated in 2001 for restoration operations in the flooded town of Lensk.
