Commissioned by the Russian Finance Ministry, Vneshekonombank, which services Russian foreign debts, has paid off and serviced the country's debts to the Paris Club totaling $1.37bn in the period from August 15 to 20, 2002, the press service of Vneshekonombank reported. The payments have been made in nine currencies in accordance with the payment schedule that had been agreed to with creditors within the framework of the fourth and fifth consolidations of debts of the Soviet Union.
