On Tuesday Director General of the Military Insurance Company Sergei Tsikolyuk stated to journalists that the company was prepared to pay out up to 30 million rubles (about 1 million euro) to victims of the MI-26 helicopter crash in Chechnya.
According to him, the company was prepared to pay social benefits to relatives of the dead and injured servicemen within 2-3 days. He pointed out that families of senior officers would receive 600,000 roubles each, junior officers - 530,000 rubles, warrant officers - 360,000, soldiers -182,000 rubles. In addition to that, the company will pay out 10 minimum wages to those who sustained grave wounds and five minimum wages to slightly wounded servicemen.
Tsikolyuk failed to say how many servicemen were on board the helicopter. He stated that "at the moment there were no exact figures but by the end of the day we would obtain them."
