ExxonMobil is in advanced talks over the sale of gas output from its Papua New Guinea Gas Project.
The project expects to make its first deliveries in 2006.
Apart from ExxonMobil, the other participants in the project are Oil Search, ChevronTexaco, MRDC and Japan PNG Petroleum.
Earlier this year, Australian Gas Light reached a conditional agreement with the PNG Gas Project.
It said it would take 125 million cubic feet per day over a 20-year period, starting in 2006. ©
