Data on liquor production released

In January-July 2002, the production of vodka and other liquors increasedby 10.5 percent in Russia as compared to the corresponding figure of 2001,and reached 72.7 million decaliters, the State Statistics Committee ofRussia reported. In July, production gained 24.3 percent against July 2001and 5.1 percent against June 2002.Sugar production decreased by 4.3 percent in the first seven months of 2002as compared to the corresponding period of 2001 and reached 3.6 milliontons.
