Today, in Kaliningrad, the Yantar [Amber] wharf solemnly launched a vessel commissioned from it by the German Aveking & Rasmussen company. The ship is equipped for environmental protection work.
According to Boris Krut, Yantar's Chief Engineer, this is the second vessel his company has built for Aveking & Rasmussen. The agreement signed between the two companies provides for the production of a whole series of similar vessels and several ocean-going motorized yachts. The Chief Engineer further said that 60% of the wharf's output goes to Holland, Norway, and Germany under long-term cooperation agreements.
At this time, the Yantar wharf is also building the Novik and Yaroslav the Wise warships for the Russian navy and the Sprut [Octopus] ship for the Federal Border Guard Service of Russia also carrying environmental protection-related equipment.
