A Lithuanian company has opened a fish processing enterprise Vinchyunai-Rusin the Kaliningrad Region, a representative of the regional administrationtold RBC. The total cost of the enterprise is $7m. The building of theplant, which is wholly owned by a Lithuanian company, took 7 months. Theplant's capacity is 28 tons of products a year. It is planned that theenterprise will make products of 40 varieties, mainly crab fingers. Thecompany plans to sell its products in Russia. A local official explainedthat the company had so far been supplying fish products to Russia fromLithuania and Estonia. The personnel of the plant will consist of 400people at the initial stage of the project, and another 200 people will beemployed at the next stage. The plant will begin to operate at fullcapacity in September 2002, the official added. .
