AvtoVAZ posts production results

The total volume of AvtoVAZ's production amounted to 55.211bn rubles ($1.75bn) in the period from January to July 2002, which was 100.7 percent of the planned volume, the press service of the company reported. The automobile plant manufactured 439,231 cars in this period, which was 2,387 cars more than it had been planned. In the first seven months of 2001 the plant manufactured 439,669 cars. In the period from January to July 2002 some 134,521 model VAZ-2110 cars, 40,179 model Niva VAZ-21213 and VAZ-21214 cars were produced. 6,030 model VAZ-2131 cars and 1,011 VAZ-2120 minivans were manufactured in this period. AvtoVAZ manufactured 30,824 model VAZ-2115 cars, 1,191 model VAZ-2114 cars and 1,252 model VAZ-2104 cars with diesel engine. In July 2002 the plant assembled 66,617 cars including 20,161 VAZ-2110 cars. Some 54,784 cars were exported in the first seven months of 2002, which was 950 cars more than it had been planned.
