Russia and Moldova are preparing an agreement on free trade between the two countries, Moldovan First Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Iovv told RIA Novosti on Tuesday, following the meeting of the Russian-Moldovan inter-governmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.
According to him, the members of the commission decided to form an expert group to elaborate measures to increase trade turnover between the two countries.
Russian Vice Premier Aleksei Gordeyev, the co-chairman of the commission, called to give up trade restrictions on several goods between our countries. According to him, the members of the commission also discussed the indirect taxation.
According to RIA Novosti's data, the volume of trade turnover between Russia and Moldova increased by 9.3 per cent in 2001.
